Atelier Nove
A fashion atelier and showroom in a former printworks — raw shell, precise insertions, ochre accents.
Brief & objectives
An independent fashion house needed its atelier, archive and client showroom under one roof, inside a former printworks whose character had to survive the move.
The brand asked for a space that photographs quietly: garments first, architecture second — but never absent.
- Preserve the industrial shell and concentrate the budget in freestanding insertions
- Design a display system that reconfigures in one afternoon
- Separate atelier and showroom acoustics without walls
Process
- 01
Inventory
Every trace of the printworks worth keeping was catalogued before demolition drawings were issued.
- 02
Insertions
Two charcoal volumes — fitting rooms and archive — organise the plan while never touching the old trusses.
- 03
Systems
A brass rail grid was prototyped with a local workshop until a single person could rehang the collection.
